Our Outdoor Christmas Tree

For the first time in years we're not going to be home for Christmas. With that in mind, the thought of dragging our not inconsiderable tree down the narrow stairs from the loft, and unpacking a lifetime's collection of decorations, was too much to contemplate.
So this year we decided to just light up one of the conifers in the garden.

And I'm glad we did. I mean, you have to have a tree don't you?

  1. Yes, you do have to have a tree and this is a great option. It looks so pretty! Putting up a tree is a lot of work! I spent almost a full day doing mine!

  3. Yes you do. We are going away for xmas also for the very first time. My youngest daughter almost howled when I suggested we not put up a tree this year. So we put 2/3 of the tree instead. Ours is huge, so she was happy withe compromise. I'll be packing it away on the 21st when we leave, so I don't have to face it when we get back. Your conifer looks beautiful. Wish I had thought of that! G.x

  4. I must admit that sometimes we cheat and only use 2/3 of our tree. I bought it when the boys were home, and compared to them, everything seemed smaller then!

  6. Putting up the tree and decorating it is part of the lead up to Christmas for me!
The lights on your conifer in the garden look wonderful and must give you and your neighbours much joy Pam.

I love being at home for Christmas - but the alternative is with my daughter and her family in France so that's very special too!
We're having a quiet one at home this year - just three of us at this stage.

    Joyeux Noël
